Privacy Policy

Timeglass ("the App", "we", "us") is a personal journal and time-awareness app ("时光沙漏"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

1. The short version

The App is designed to keep your data on your device. We do not operate accounts, do not upload your journal content, and do not sell or share your personal information. In-app purchases are processed by Apple, not by us.

2. Data stored on your device

Most of the content you create stays locally on your device:

Wishes, notes, photos, videos, and time capsules in your journal;
Your birthday and the reference lifespan line;
Daily check-ins, streaks, and app settings;
Your Pro membership status (stored locally, no account required).

This data is stored in your app's local storage on the device you use. We do not sync it to any server.

3. Permissions we request

Location (iOS: "while in use") — used only to estimate the average lifespan for your region so we can draw a more relevant reference line. This is a best-effort, optional calculation; your precise location is not uploaded, and you can reset the reference line to the default at any time.
Photo Library / Camera / Microphone — used only to add photos or videos to your journal. Media stays on your device.
Notifications — local reminders (e.g., a daily check-in). No data is sent to us.

4. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

The App offers auto-renewable subscriptions (weekly, monthly, and yearly) through the App Store. Payments, billing, and receipts are handled entirely by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy and Terms. We only read the purchase result to enable the corresponding Pro features on your device.

5. Analytics & advertising

The App does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not serve ads. We do not use IDFA or tracking technologies.

6. Home Screen widget

The optional Home Screen widget reads data shared locally with the App via an App Group container on your device. No data leaves your device.

7. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Data security & retention

Because your content stays on your device, you control it. Deleting the App removes its local data. You can also clear all data from within the App's settings.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted at this URL.
